Muelekanyi Technical Services NPC was founded by Khosi Muelekanyi Tshivhase, it comprises of a group of individuals who come from different areas of expertise, passionate and moved with compassion at the state of need in so many people's lives. It aspires to see the lives of its local communities transformed through meeting the educational, skills and developmental needs of the vulnerable and equipping those in need with tools and resources to improve their quality of life. The organisation's main aim is to develop and build strong communities and bring about a positive, sustainable change.
Muelekanyi Academy is a pioneering initiative by Muelekanyi Technical Services aimed at transforming education accessibility for learners in underdeveloped and rural communities in South Africa. The Academy uses a blended learning model, combining a robust online learning platform aligned with the South African Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) and localised in-person tutoring at a learning centre in Tshilapfene.
We believe that innovative online learning platforms can play a pivotal role in addressing educational disparities. By leveraging a comprehensive digital curriculum aligned to the South African Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS), we aim to provide learners in rural communities with access to quality education, thereby bridging the gap caused by geographical and infrastructural limitations.
The school is in Tshilapfene, it falls within the Tshinane Circuit in the Thulamela Local Municipality, part of the greater Vhembe District in Limpopo. The learners have the best of both the traditional classroom interaction and the online learning experience. The core curriculum is presented through the online platform with additional online and in-person tutoring available to enhance learnings. Muelekanyi Technical Services with the support of donors fully funds the online platform associated costs and the schools operational costs.

Prof Thidziambi Phendla
Prof. Thidziambi Phendla serves as the Principal of Muelekanyi Academy, bringing with her a distinguished academic career and a lifelong commitment to educational equity. She holds a PhD in Education and has served in various leadership roles. With extensive experience in curriculum development, policy advocacy, and teacher training, Prof. Phendla is uniquely positioned to lead the Academy's innovative blended learning model. Her vision is to nurture a generation of confident, capable learners - empowering them with the tools to succeed in a rapidly changing world. Passionate about community upliftment and youth development, she is a tireless advocate for transforming education in under-resourced areas.
Lavhe Raliwedza
Lavhe Raliwedza is a dedicated educator at Muelekanyi Academy, bringing a strong academic background and a passion for empowering learners in the Senior Phase and Further Education and Training (FET) band. He holds a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree from the University of Limpopo, complemented by an N5 Certificate in Financial Management from Vhembe TVET College. With over four years of teaching experience, Mr. Raliwedza is committed to delivering quality education that prepares learners not only for academic success but also for life beyond the classroom. His teaching approach integrates academic excellence with practical skills, making him a valued member of our blended learning team.
Ampfarisaho Tshivhase
Ampfarisaho Tshivhase brings a strong science background and a passion for education to her role at Muelekanyi Academy. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Botany, along with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education specialising in Life Sciences and Natural Sciences. She has experience teaching Mathematics, Life Sciences, Natural Sciences, and Creative Arts and actively supports school life through sports,arts and culture. Her solid foundation in laboratory and scientific skills enriches her teaching and inspires curiosity in her learners. Ms. Tshivhase brings a hands-on, learner-centred approach to the classroom, making science both engaging and accessible.
